Fun with Uncles

Uncle Mike helps me practice walking...Those uncles of mine sure are trouble - but so fun to play with! On the way home from the beach I was soooo tired! I tried to stay awake so I could go out to dinner with them in the big city - but I just couldn't do it. I guess on Saturday nights babies have a bedtime of 7pm and Uncles have a bedtime of 5am!!

I (sometimes) eat food now!

So....I'm 9 months and all of a sudden Mommy and Daddy thought I started eating lots more milk so it seemed time to start some big people food! I tried solid food for the first time a few days ago (not counting all the beach sand, bath water and dirt already consumed!) and I like Cheerios, and whole peaches and pears. I won't eat them unless they are given to me whole-none of this cutting my food up into baby pieces! Mostly I still eat milk...but slooooowly I'm learning to like some other foods now too - and I'm getting some teeth! My friendly love nibbles don't feel quite the same anymore - so don't let me chew on your fingers anymore! 

a quick thanks

For some reason, I've had so much trouble blogging this picture - finally I got it up! I just wanted to have a little tribute to our wonderful hostess and gourmet chef for the 4th of July weekend - my Aunt Jayne! I did pick up a few tips - but I confess we have referted to some of our old faithful dishes (gasp) such as tuna casserole and Chipotle burritos upon our return home! A belated thanks for the fun weekend Jayne, Jim, Tom & Kathy!!

For some reason, our daughter loves animals! Every animal she tries to "get" runs from her
- I think they know a threat when they see one!! Hmm...maybe next time I should hang a piece of bread around her neck?

4th of July

Oh my, we're behind! But here's the last of the adventures on the 4th of July!

Fourth Fun Part 1

Well we finally got to meet our first (and favorite) nephew, wee baby Jonas, over the holiday weekend. As seen below, he is cute as a button and an excellent sleeper...


The whole Martinson side was along breathing in that sweet new baby aroma (for those of you who have never had the pleasure, it's nothing like new car smell but just as dizzying).

Abbie especially enjoyed the off-roading in Whitewater state park!


We also made a quick pit stop at my parents so they could fill up thier Abbie resevoir.
Next we're off to the lake...
