Sisters

Alex and I enjoy watching our girls interact - sure, they have their squabbles, but for the most part they get along swimmingly and genuinely miss each other on the rare occassions when they are apart. Whenever Abbie is having quiet time and Isabel is up, she goes around asking, "Abbie? Abbie?!" And once in awhile I'll take Abbie on an errand when Isabel is napping at home with Daddy on the weekend. Abbie always says, "Where's Izzie, you forgot Izzie!!" However, sometimes the situation becomes humorous - today Abbie has a fever and cold and so was resting on the couch. Isabel just couldn't leave her alone - she kept trying to engage her in play, when that failed she decided to join her sister on the couch...sigh, the things sisters have to endure! Abbie wasn't very happy (I think with the fever she was warm enough without Isabel on top!). We ended up making Isabel and her doll their own bed on a cushion...

Healthy and Growing...

I had an interesting double pediatrician appointment yesterday - the interesting component came in the form of waiting for hours (I don't blame them, there were lots of sick kids!), both girls getting shots, and struggling with a very strong Miss Isabel to get her to sit still for 2.5 seconds on the baby scale. Yes, after 10 minutes of screaming and struggling (apparently the kids in the waiting room were getting scared) the nurse actually uttered through pursed lips, with hair all disheveled,

"There has not yet been a toddler I can't weigh!"

I thought, but did not say,

"Then meet my Isabel - who is usually fairly pleasant and content unless she makes up her mind she doesn't like something!"

Anyhow, they are both healthy and growing well :-) Except that there isn't a prayer for Isabel's 18mo. visit - hmm..maybe it's Daddy's turn?!! ;-)

On top of this, I decided to give up my morning cup of coffee (usually don't really have time for it anyway) but this turned out to be not such a wise idea - as we were leaving the office and my head had felt explosive for five hours you should've seen me trying to balance a sloshing cup of precious waiting-room black coffee with holding Isabel and pushing Abbie in the stroller through the double doors. The answer? Abandon child in stroller on sidewalk and rush the coffee to the cupholder in the car where it would be safe!

PJ dance party..looks like Daddy's really cuttin' up the rug huh?

Storytime, or maybe Isabel prefers talking on the phone
