A Mighty Fine May

In this blessed month of May we've had great fun with so many friends and family!

The first two pictures don't have friends or family but their resemblance to my sister's blog makes them a must. What great little helpers we have!

Jess came to visit while the boys were camping. Although there are no animals present (besides the obvious) I am assured this is at the Lincoln park zoo. And no, sadly there is no official record of the 2007 KIOS camping beer tent.

Katie and Amanda brought Abbie and Alaina to NU to visit their daddies during lunch one warm day in May. My future's so bright...

Finally, Grandma and Grandpa made the drive down to see our new place! Here are just a few of the smiling faces. I'm not sure who is enjoying this puzzle more...?

How many grown men does it take to assemble the new stroller G&G bought for Abbie's doll?

Pajama party!
For those of you we missed in May... hope to see you in June!

Of raincoats and puddle jumping

So we had a rainy afternoon today and had exhausted all possible diversions in the house (short of coloring on the walls!). We built a fort, colored pictures, read books, "re-organized" the silverware drawer, played in a sinkful of water, climbed on the furniture....what else were we to do to occupy ourselves before dinner? Finally out of desperation, even though it was rainy, wet and cold Mama decided we MUST go out and remembered the raincoat and boots Grandma M. had given to Abbie! Grandma saved the day! Out we went. Abbie was so confused when Mama was the first to splash in a big puddle...why is it suddenly not only allowed but ENCOURAGED to do this?!!! How fun! We made mudpies and splashed to our hearts' content. We went on a worm hunt and didn't find any - why were there no worms on this rainy day? Weird. Oh, and I still can't get all the dirt out from under her fingernails...looks like we'll have to do more sink-play tomorrow!

Spring Fun

Imitating Mama by putting sunglasses on the head...note the battle wounds near right eye and nose - we took a bit of a tumble at the park. Abbie is quite the little bruiser since climbing is our new hobby. I try to keep up with her, but have been feeling rather cumbersome of late what with baby sister on board...you should see me going down the slide at the park...ahhh, I can only laugh at myself. And just think, it will be even more amusing as the summer goes on! This baby is going to come out park-ready with walking shoes on :-)

Happy little girl about to play contentedly with toys from her toy box....i.e. crazy bundle of energy who is about to get up on the toy box and do a crazy "Let me out of this apartment to play outside" pow-wow dance while singing jibberish to everyone within a 2-mile radius.

Okay folks, we swear she pulled this empty out of the recycling bin and came around the corner casually pretending to sip - who taught her how to drink out of a bottle like that? Eh-hem...please take note: Daddy is the only one who can drink in the household at this time - what exactly goes on when Mama works?!

Who's on the big girl swing?!!

Exploring at the beach - emphatically pronounced at our house as "BEACTH!!"

Yum, yum!! Mama steps out for just a second to answer the phone...well, I guess it's important to thoroughly enjoy and experience our food, right? It's nice that bathtime always follows dinner-we've actually just taken to dining in only a diaper lately. Then straight to the tub and I mean straight - i.e. carried straight in front and away from Mama, wriggling all the way down the hall just looking for the opportunity to escape and paint the walls with marinara!
