Jubilee

Happy belated Father's Day to all the fathers out there! We took the Daddy of our family for a nice, sticky run and picnic in the forest preserve. We even let him push the double stroller for most of the time! Don't worry, he did get to sleep in, open presents and even watch Transformers at night...which was an awesome movie, by the way!


This is an interesting little arrangement that Abbie presented me with the other day...we had quite the laugh at the center flower...does she have talent?!

This weekend our village put on a Jubliee! There were carnival rides, games, concerts, fireworks and tons of fried food. The highlight for Abbie was riding this car ride -no less than four times to be exact! Unfortunately Isabel was too little to join...maybe next year!

Happy baby playing with a clothes hanger - who knew it could be so fun?! Isabel loves to roll around on the floor and 'play' - she just laughs and laughs...its cute.

Abbie in her new swimsuit (had to get a new one because our old faithful blue one is starting to wear out - don't think it was meant to be worn everyday!) She also earned this prize - the wooden snake next to her on the couch - for a reading program we're doing at the library. She was adamant that she wanted the snake! When the librarian asked what she wanted and Abbie emphatically declared "The BIG SNAKE!" the librarian paused for a moment and then said (to her credit) "Well, alright dear, that is a 'special' looking snake!"

Yum, yum yum! This baby loves to try new foods - salmon and broccoli are her new favorites - a taste for finer foods perhaps?! None of this strained pears business....

Trying out the new running shoes - excuse the red socks, we are very into picking out our own clothes these days...sometimes they match sometimes not...

Riding the carnival ride!! It was very important that we get the PURPLE car...all four times we rode!

Playground Fun

So this is a new favorite pasttime out on our patio - it turns out that both girls can use the bike! Isabel just holds on for dear life when it is her turn to be pushed by Abbie!

Isabel loves to swing - she even protests loudly when we take her out and it's time to go! The swings are nice though, because it keeps her from eating the woodchips...

Apparently Abbie knows how to do a flip using this bar... Who knew?! I think gymnastics may be on the horizen!

Friends at the Zoo!

On Memorial Day we had the chance to meet our friends Alex, Erica and Baby Elsie at the zoo! It was a great time for all - fun for the parents to talk and fun of the kiddos to oogle at each other :-) Thanks for meeting up with us you guys - it was great to see you!

Also, the girls and I met two of their little boyfriends at the zoo recently, Owen and Liam, but Mama forgot her camera! boo hoo...well, even though there is no picture to capture it - we still had a fun day - thanks guys!
