Sunday mornings in this household...

Here's Abbie Anne reading a book on a Sunday morning...she's not reading the book upside down without any parent correcting that is she? And what is that she's chewing on - where did she find that and is it a toy meant for toddlers? Hmm...and it wouldn't be going on 11:30am and our baby is still in her pajamas...would it? I mean, what kinda of lazy parents does she have anyway? Thaaaat's right, it was Sunday morning and her responsible parents must have been so very busy cleaning the house, paying bills, emailing senators, helping the neighbors, saving the world...or were they laying around on the floor with Abbie hoping that she would get up and fix them lunch before we all took a nap?! I'll let you guess :-)

The Museum Visit and Good Job Daddy

Let's see....where to next?!!

Whoa...what is this?!!

Riding fairly peacefully in the car - yummy carseat strap feels good on my molars that are coming in.

Abbie and Alaina

Driving the train

Okay, so the museum was SO busy on Monday, given that it was President's Day, that we didn't even make it around to see Clifford! Bummer...but Abbie didn't seem to mind - she had such fun playing at the exhibits. I had to practically extract her when it was time to go. We have a sort of standing playdate on Thursday with Alaina while her Mommy has a meeting for a few hours. So this morning we played the morning away, had sticky pancakes for lunch and then went down for naptime - leaving Mama to clean up all the toys but also leaving Mama with some time to herself :-) Hence my chance to post a few pics of the musuem visit...

OH AND DADDY PASSED HIS RESEARCH PROPSAL!! Yeay for Daddy...we went out to eat with the group at a (yipes) Bar the other night and Abbie came right along wearing her "Daddy Rocks" shirt and had fun playing the arcade games...and what do ya know...we don't even need quarters to play them at this age!! Pushing the buttons was fun enough...:-)

Number Two!

We also thought it was about time to put a little something on the blog about our exciting news: We are expecting our second baby sometime around August 24th! Here is a picture of Abbie getting a good look at her new sibling through the ultrasound pictures...does she look excited??? Maybe puzzled..."Why are Mama and Daddy making such a big deal about some paper?!" We're excited and looking forward to this new little addition to our family!

Peas and Clifford

Well, good thing that we didn't worry about getting new furniture before having kids...because apparantly it is SO much fun to eat peas off the coffee table like so. Hey, she ate about 3/4 a cup of peas this way, so I figure any way we can get veggies in is fair game right?! We were practicing eating like a puppy dog because the big excitement around here is that Clifford the Big Red Dog is going to be at the Children's Museum on Monday!! Abbie and three of her little friends (and two of Mommy's friends) are going to see Clifford in person! We have been reading our four Clifford books over and over and over and...I think we will be purchasing a few new Clifford books at this appearance! OH, and just in case the grandparents are worried, our daughter DOES know how to use silverware and will not be allowed to eat like a puppy dog at every meal...:-)

Playdates

So Abbie and Mama have had several neat playdates in the last few days - one with our friends down the street, another to the Chicago Children's Museum and today we went out to the suburbs to visit two little buddies. Do you think Mama remembered to take any pictures these past three days? Nope...by the time the toddler was fed and bundled and toys were packed and lunch gear was stowed...the camera was lost in the shuffle. So here is a fun picture of Abbie and Daddy playing around - who did Nana buy the bike for anyways? Abbie wasn't so sure about Daddy's driving.

Boots to Bed

As all of you know, Abbie is quite fond of footwear. These are the latest.
