We had one of the those days... in the best sense. One that I'll never forget. No pictures necessary:
Isabel: "Hey Mama, is Grandpa allergic to fairies?"
Mama: "Um, no Isabel, I don't think Grandpa is allergic to fairies."
Isabel (all excited): "Then can we get a FAIRY?"
(The background on this one is that months ago we used Grandpa as our excuse not to get a cat.)
Anyone know of a reputable place with fairies for purchase???
Emelia: We all turned from the table after dinner to find our precocious one-year old smiling at her reflection in the mirror. After the baby in the mirror returned Emelia's smile she proceeds to give her a big wet smooch on the lips. She then turns and grins at us and goes back for a second huge kiss. Yes, she's never been shy...
Abbie: (Watching the city worker flush the fire hydrant outside our house) "But HOW can it hold THAT much water?"
Mama: "Oh, there are pipes underground that carry the water to the tiny fire hydrant, it doesn't really hold all that water, it just comes out through the hydrant."
Abbie: (awestruck) "Yes, but HOW can it hold SO much water, Mama?!"
Mama: "Yeah, it's pretty amazing..." (realizing sometimes you just have to appreciate the awesomeness of things as they look through a child's eyes)
We love you babies,
M&D

We'll keep our eyes open for fairies out here in the country Iz. Can't wait to see Emelia - she changes so much everytime we see her. And, Abbie, wouldn't it be great if fire hydrants held milkshakes????
Love,
Grandma
Apparently, Izzie caught you at a weak moment. I'm sure normally you would have caught on immediately and assured her that, yes, Grandpa develops itchy eyes, sneezing, and throat tightening at the mere MENTION of fairies! Oh, well, I guess you'll be ready next time! You know, when one of your girls wants to get a horse, hamster, or boyfriend! :)
AWWW!! Love it all:)
